Buy Top Furniture Brands For The Next School Year

Teachers and educators have a lot on their minds when they’re planning for the next school year.  It may be the beginning of spring where you are, but most educators are already starting to plan ahead for the next new school year.  You’re spending time planning curriculums, thinking about tests, planning summer reading lists, and dealing with parents.  And on top of that you’re wondering what how your school is going to manage to afford to replace all of its worn out furniture.

School Outlet is an expert in all things relating to school supplies and furniture, and if you’re having a hard time figuring out which brands to go with we can help you out.

Vicro

Do you need a lot of sturdy school furniture, but need something that will be easily stored?  If so, consider shopping for the Vicro brand next school year.  Vicro chairs and desks aren’t just sturdy, they’re also design to be easily stacked.  Any teacher or maintenance worker knows how difficult and dangerous stacking mismatched chairs and desks can be.  Vicro furniture is designed to be stacked safely and efficiently.

Safco

You’re concerned about finding new desks and furniture for students, but at the same time you’re noticing that the teachers could also use a furniture upgrade.  Take care of two problems at the same time and shop at Safco for your classroom and school furniture.  Safco is an established brand that’s affordable, lauded for its safety, and also has a very modern and stylish look to its products.  You’ll easily be able to find desks that students will love, and big desks and comfy chairs teachers will love to sit in.

Flash Furniture

Your classrooms are in desperate need of furniture, and your auditorium is starting to look a little sparse.  You need a lot of furniture, but unfortunately your district budget isn’t giving you a lot to work with.  Don’t worry, Flash Furniture has everything you need.  Do you need a few inexpensive table tops to use for crafts?  Flash Furniture can help you find something.  Do you need a few dozen chairs for the next parent-teacher night?  You can find as many chairs as you need, and they’ll be sturdy and well built.

Wood Designs

You’re looking for new classroom and school furniture, but you just aren’t into the whole “plastic” look.  You want something that’s classic and well-built, and that’s where Wood Designs comes into play.  Wood Designs makes a variety of well-crafted furniture that has a homey and classic look to it.

Why School Outlet is Your Ultimate Classroom Furniture Store

If you’re looking for school and classroom furniture, you have a lot of options available to you.  Your school district may have a company that they suggest that teachers use, and there is never a shortage of flyers and offers from other classroom furniture companies that are eager for your business.  When you have a world of choice open to you picking the right company can seem a bit overwhelming.  You may have a lot of different options, but School Outlet is the only one you should choose.  Curious about why we’re so confident that we’re the right company for your school and classroom furniture needs?  After you read this post, you’ll see why.

We remember the teachers

When most people think about classroom furniture, they focus on students desks and chairs.  People forget that teachers need a comfortable chair to sit in, and a sturdy desk to grade papers at.  At School Outlet we don’t just help you find the best student classroom manufacturers, we also help you find manufacturers that specialize in furniture for teachers.  Educators won’t have worry about spending their classroom time behind a small desk that lacks storage space.  And they also won’t be grading papers in raggedy and uncomfortable chairs.

We think beyond the traditional classroom

When you think of a classroom, what comes to mind?  If you immediately thought of desks and chairs, how old did you envision the students in them to be?  Traditional grade schools need desks and chairs, but what about kindergartens, pre-schools, and education minded daycares?  They may not be traditional classrooms, but they all still need furniture.  We carry brands that have special chairs for smaller children, smaller desks, and even cribs for daycares.  We also carry furniture that goes beyond traditional desks and chairs.  We carry a variety of unique furniture manufacturers that have special furniture that doesn’t confirm to the typical classroom furniture standards.

We make shopping affordable

How much do you think that the average school district spends on furniture?  Do you think of them setting aside a few hundred dollars a year to replace any furniture that may be worn out or broken.  Do you think that some of the richer ones have a few thousand dollars that they use to buy new furniture?  You may be surprised to learn that some school districts can spend hundred of thousands of dollars trying to replace their furniture.  In a time where school budgets are being cut to ribbons, the average district doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on furniture.  We make buying classroom and school furniture affordable so that schools can have more money for other activities.

Top 5 Items Teachers Love When Setting Up a Classroom

Teachers need more than just a classroom and books in order to teach their students. A well-designed, well-stocked classroom can make a huge difference. From desks and chairs to odds and ends, here's everything a classroom needs to make a teacher jump up and down with joy:

Functional desks and chairs: We all know that students need a place to sit, but these days there is a wider variety than ever of desks and chairs for classrooms. These include lift-top desks with storage inside of them, a classic style that is particularly useful when students use the same desks day after day. But simple writing desks are also available, as well as a large number of setups for art or science activities that give students plenty of space to get their work done.

Cubbies: This is something that often goes overlooked, but teachers are always excited to have them. Cubbies can be of limitless use both for students and for the teacher. In younger grade levels, students may be assigned a cubby to keep their class supplies in so that things don't get lost from day to day. In any grade level, cubbies are useful for storing materials for special activities and keeping things sorted and organized. A classroom with a set of cubbies is always a neater, easier to use classroom.

Coat racks: Coat racks are mainly used in preschools, kindergartens and early grade levels. Essentially, in any setting where students are not assigned their own lockers out in the hallway, having coat racks in the classroom is a must. This makes it easy to organize students' jackets and book bags so they don't get lost and also to keep distractions out of the classroom. Coat racks typically come with cubbies or shelves above or below to maximize the space students have for their things.

Bulletin board displays: Every teacher delights in designing displays to welcome their students to the classroom on the first day of school, to announce and track contests between students, or to keep students aware of themes in the lessons. Having a good bulletin board is a must, in addition to the chalkboard or whiteboard.

A good AV setup: Teachers these days are more "wired" than ever. They may use their own laptops in class, as well as projectors and tablet devices. Teachers breathe a sigh of relief when their desk or podium is designed to facilitate multimedia usage.

What else is a "must have" in your classroom? Check out our excellent selection at School Outlet to get these and other useful items when setting up your classroom!

Keeping Kids Engaged in Their Learning

Ask any teacher what the most challenging part of his or her job is, and you'll probably be told that it's keeping students interested throughout the day. Even the most passionate educator knows that there is going to come a time when students will just tune out. Even if the subject matter is interesting, it's the way the materials are presented that is key.

While fleeting attention spans aren't age specific, the youngest students can pose the most challenges. At School Outlet, we provide the classroom furnishings needed to help meet those challenges and keep kids engaged in learning. But it takes more than just fun things to play with to succeed; the key is to mix up your methods when lesson planning. Here are a couple of big tips on how to do that successfully:

1.      Cut Down on Quiet Time
Inevitably, some quiet time is required. This is especially true if you're dealing with younger students who are just beginning to learn how to read. After all, how do you teach reading without giving students time to read on their own? But mixing in more "active" time compared to "down" time will keep students feeling energized. Something like a custom activity table can be just what you need to keep students engaged over the course of a long day. Giving them something tangible to interact with and a place to cooperate with others is the best way to promote learning.

2.      Make a Game
Taking a lesson and turning it into a game is another time-tested way to keep young students engaged in their education. From computer games to more traditional physical group activities, games are a great way to trigger the memory and keep students interested. Even if a full game isn't feasible, a simple repetitive act like a call and response sing-a-long lesson would keep students paying attention. The use of music as a learning tool has long been accepted as one of the best ways to help young children retain information.

A custom activity table from School Outlet can provide students with the space they need to get quality, hands on education time. Combining physical activity with creative lesson plans that incorporate games will make young students active participants in their own learning. Check out SchoolOutlet.com today and see what classroom supplies we offer that can help keep students engaged!
